Help A problem with my contacts. Please help!

Hi guys

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone. Everything is going fine and I also have sync it with my google account. Until one day I decided that I don't like my google account and created a new one. So I removed the old google account from my phone and sync my phone with my new account.

Now all of a sudden all my contacts has disappeared from whatsapp and therefore I cannot create a new conversation with anyone. All my past conversations are there but it only shows the numbers of my contacts and not the names. When I open my text messages inbox, it is also the same. The past conversations are there but the names of the contacts are not shown. The contacts in my address book is still there thankfully.

I have tried going to settings and synching my google account and whatsapp account but no luck. :(

Can anyone help me to get all my contacts synced to text messages and whatsapp? I'm sorry if this is a newbie question. :(

Your contacts were saved in your old Google account, so they were removed from the phone when you deleted your old Google account. You need to copy your contacts from your old Google account to your new one; some methods for doing it are listed here.

Another option would be to add your old Google account back to the phone, keeping you new Google account, and don't have the old account automatically sync with the phone.

Easy solution:

1. Go to your browser on your PC and sign into your old Google account
2. Go to contacts and (top left under the Google logo which will initially be Gmail - it's a drop-down menu)
3. Click on the third botton (More) to the right of the Gmail/Contacts menu and select Export >
4. Export as Export > Google CSV format (which should have the radio button already selected
5. Choose where to save it to
6. sign out of your old Google account and sign in to your new Google Account
7. repeat steps 1. to 2.
8. Instead of step 3. Exporting choose Import and simply complete the same steps as above but this time select the file you saved on your PC to restore your contacts.

Done!!!
