Root A question about flashing

ok so this is a 2 part question.

So can we just flash another ROM right over another like we did on froyo?

2nd part.... If not why was it when we were on froyo we could but now that we are on GB we cant?

this might be a simple question I think i know the answer to but i dont want to assume

No. You can't flash a Rom over a Rom unless it is the same Rom. The reason for that is the GB file system is different than Froyo's file system. I don't quite understand the why either. I just go with the flow man......lol
