A question about refurbish quality

Has anyone noticed any problems.... Mine seems to be the battery... I can kill mine in about 10 hours may go to inter may go to internet browsing and screen time..

Download the gsam battery monitor (formerly the badass battery monitor) and see if things are draining your battery in the background. And it is possible the battery is bad but check it out first. Good luck.

You might notice that an app to monitor your battery actually uses your battery.

I've got a bunch of CLN's over time from VZW, it's hit or miss.

Was your phone brand new when you sent it back? No it wasn't. So why would you expect them to Send you a brand new one in place of a used one, business doesn't work that way. And CLNR phones usually don't have any problems and you won't even know it's refurbished. If there's a problem call and send it back and you have another one the next day.

For me the replacements have worked better than my original phone half the time. If you think you battery is defective then call and tell them that.

I'll find out tomorrow when it arrives I suppose. Hopefully there isn't a hint of light grey lines in the screen.

The refurbs are a hit and miss :( . You may get one someone used for a day and returned, or you may get one that's a pos. One of the reasons i don't buy insurance is because of the refurb idea. In my experience (one of top 4 wireless networks), the refurbs are complete garbage/problematic.

This is what ticks me off. I bought a brand new phone yet they wanna send me a used one. Total bs.

Same here, very frustrating. Tried to reason with support about new for new and got hold for about 40 mins and then a cryptic response once. I was like... really... ugh.

Caesars, not every one... but I've got a lot of duds trying to test for functionality that was never resolved.

Same here. I went thru 5 phones in a in a row, and finally told them that if they sent me one more defective phone, I would buy out my contract, and get service elseware. They gave me a new phone.

What issues did you specifically have? I love my phone but have a few issues that do not jive with what VZW is advertising, and it's pissing me off. I might just do this same thing, but actually test some of these features in the other carrier stores.

I'm expecting with those carriers, boring coverage, can't use a voice call because it's choppy (att). I joke on conf calls, but I'm usually 100% correct when I call a vendor rep out on a conf call on their carrier, and probably 50% correct on the phone.

I called one specific vendor with choppy voice today, and I'm like... I had this before but on another carrier, this sounds like the hardware, but on ATT, I asked him... samsung on ATT? He's like, how did you know that? I'm like yeah, cool. :D:D

The original phone had conectivity issues. They sent a replacement that the back wasnt attached, and the screen wouldnt turn on. The next one, the bottom 4 soft keys would randomly light up, the left 2 separate from the right 2, and at random times. #3 was stuck on an endless boot cycle, #4 had a horrible speaker cracking sound. and the kevlar backing had a huge bubble under it, and #5 was missing the power button......so Im not sure if it worked propperly or not.

Mine:

1 had the soft keys lit up 100% of the time, even powered off.

My current is CLN and the backing seems like it's detached/not glued/affixed correctly.

I had a CLN with a cracking speaker, like the speaker was blown.

I'm ok with the backing a little weird when you tap it, but I also came from an out of pocket maxx that I paid full price for.

I am not ok with statements from VZW board members where it's not performing like it should, but most people would not ever notice my issue. Ugh.

I'm already dreading what the phone will be like tomorrow. Gheez these horror stories. The issue with my phone isn't even that huge of a deal. I guess.

Come to think about it I on my 2nd replacement for my maxx, the first one I got was also a CLNR from Verizon because they replaced my galaxy nexus with one.

The first one I got, from my nexus as soon as I opened the box the top quarter of the screen did not respond to any touches, so they sent me a new one.

That one was great for a while, until one morning I woke up and the bottom half of my screen had white lines shooting across it, you could kinda see behind them.

Now the one I have now is working good, for now. I have never had replacements for other phones go bad like that
Maybe it's a Razr thing?

I received a refub MAXX a short time ago (about a month now) and couldn't be happier. It's as good or better than new; screen great, battery has a nice long life, all the buttons are there and work correctly, the soft keys work the way they should, don't get dropped calls, don't have data drop, the GPS is snappy to acquire position.

Couldn't be happier!

No argument there. Just nice to see if something is indeed running I. The background causing a drain that don't even need/want running and eliminate it. :-) But yeah, basically anything and everything uses power to some extent.
