A quick question about losing root

Hawker

As you all know, rooting your device via CF-Root also gives you CWM recovery which is without question THE most important piece of software you can ever install onto your GS2.

Flashing certain ROMs, especially stock ROM's will mean losing root.
On such occasions, I assume CWM Recovery will still be functioning?

If so, instead of having to re-root via CF-Root (and using Odin again), is it possible to re-root the handset simply by downloading and flashing the su package from here

Is there ever an instance where flashing something will mean losing CWM revovery?

i thought by their very nature that a custom rom needs root access to work, so any custom rom installed will automatically leave you with a rooted phone, so CWM will always be there

otherwise if you flash a new firmware (stock rom), this will have a secure kernel and no root access, so no CWM and no ability to use the files in your link unless you re-root with chainfire.

When I've flashed firmware cwm stays there NHt you always have to re root to use it there is no option in cwm too flash via cwm maybe there is a kernal that has auto root or something

I've not ever flashed a stock rom since rooting, so I was wondering what would happen if this was done with regards to CWM, as when I flashed DlevROM I lost root but not CWM.
