A quick question

Hi all,

Newbie here, got a quick question about my One X. Got it two days ago and I gotta say, this phone is awesome. I am in love with everything about it; definitely the best phone I've owned thusr far :-).

The only thing that I've noticed is that after say, 7-10 minutes usage, the back of the phone (just underneath the camera lens) gets a bit warm. Not hot or uncomfortable, just warm. It doesn't get any hotter with further use, but still feels slightly warmer than the lower back of the phone.

Does anyone else also notice this? Is it normal?

Thanks :-)

not sure if it's "normal" but it is very common. my One X gets uncomfortably hot at the same area when i'm using it for longer periods.

Well, I never thought I'd be saying this :-(.

The phone began overheating quite considerably after I last posted. I checked the battery information and the phone would heat to around 45 degrees celsius after simple tasks like texting. I knew there was a problem when I checked the temperature after browsing for 3 minutes and it had risen from 41 degrees to 49.5 :-O.

I bought the handset on Amazon on the 21st and they've been helpful and agreed to a refund due to the overheating. It's such a shame because I've owned HTCs since 2 years ago and loved the Sense UI for a long time. I remember when the Desire came out and HTC were basically king of the droids. I think they've lost that title to Samsung :-(.

I had a little play around with the S3 in the Three Store and I have to admit, that thing is blazingly fast. Easily the fastest mobile browser I've ever used; I was astonished at how responsive and fluid the whole experience was. I'm not trying to stir up HOX vs SGS3 tensions here, cause I honestly love both handsets. To me, they both show the capabilities of Android and show (to me) how superior the platform is to other OSs (iOs included).

I am actually pretty upset that the One X didn't work out for me. I honestly was looking forward to using it for 2 years and feeling smug about how awesome my phone was. I opted for a refund instead of exchange because I've found that many devices are suffering from pretty serious overheating issues, and I hope HTC irons that out. I wouldn't have even minded if they had drilled more microholes in the back to allow the processor to cool more efficiently.

So, my One X sits boxed up ready to be collected for a refund tomorrow and I'm actually really sad about it. I'm currently leaning towards getting an S3 because I'm still in the market for a top of the range Droid and that's the only handset or comparable power to the One X.

Sorry for the essay! :-(

Mine gets warm after a bit of use but it doesn't seem to have affected it any way. I now use a silicon cover on the back so don't notice it now that's on. I think quite a few people have found their One X is the same so I'm assuming that it's normal.
