A random person is shoveling my driveway

And it's long too. What do?

When I lived on the east coast my neighbors sometimes shoveled my driveway.. not sure why.. and they stopped doing it after about a week. I think they expected me to return the favor and I never did.

Yell out you are not interested in the church of scientology before they get to your door!

Once the path is clear.. the rest can charge.

Most likely, lol.

If a neighbour has a snow plow, they might be kind to do a couple of houses beside them. My friend rarely has to shovel the snow. Both neighbours on each side take turn to do her driveway for her.

I've done my neighbour's a few times and I've seen my sidewalk/driveway plowed before too :)

Sometimes people likes to be nice. I know last year I shoveled my neighbors car out when we got like 2 feet. He was 70 and couldnt watch him do it when I could help him out. He asked me how much I wanted. I said you can pay me with a thank you. He was shocked that I did it to just be nice and help out.

my next door neighbor has a plow on his 4 wheeler and we share a driveway and he plows my side also. So its nice to see neighbors help out one another.

I love it when it's snowing and all of the neighbours are out shoveling the snow around the same time. I'll be screaming (talking) to the neighbours a couple of houses down and it just makes the task more fun.

Not sure if you folks are aware, but there is plenty of room here in Southern California. Here in So Cal, we get lots of snow - an hour away in the mountains, where it belongs! In the same amount of time, I can also reach picturesque beaches, glorious forests, and pristine deserts worthy of naming an album after (Joshua Tree). Hell, I'm going to the beach this weekend - no joke!

Oh, also, we average about 27% higher pay for the same job as the rest of the non New York/San Francisco country.

I've never seen a snow blower in real life. No plans to.

They say your state is on a fault line and is going to fall off the continent and sink.... I'd rather be in NY with all the snow LOL...J/K

I get that all the time! In reality, you're missing out. When the earthquakes come, it's like a free roller-coaster.

Did I mention Disneyland, California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Legoland, and three auto tracks within an hour and a half drive?:D

We have most of that too, Legoland bought Cyprus Gardens, but housing prices are probably 1/3 of that in California. When I got out of the Marine Corps in 1983 my job recruiter wanted me to go to LA/San Diego and while the jobs paid maybe 20% more, the housing was double. I ended up in Florida and then Georgia.

We don't have any white stuff in Winter Haven (except sand) and I understand that up north it could be like a homeless guy jumping out to wash your "clean windshield".

At the same time, there are allot of people out of work. So if it is just a neighbor being neighborly or someone trying to make a buck, it doesn't hurt for you to return the favor or pay a few bucks (if you can).

27% higher pay with 50% higher cost of living.

Plus when the polar caps melt, everyone at sea level is history... I should be safe up here about 6000' or so.
