Root A rooting question- Samsung Intercept

I have a Samsung Intercept. Currently this phone does not support live wallpaper nor does it support video calling.
If I root the phone will it support these things?

You will need to wait for a FroYo Rom - Z4Root is on the market....anyuone tried it yet?

i have tried z4 root, the temp root works but the permant root does not.

I'm a semi-newbie to this stuff but recently when my 2.2 update failed I had to start reading the forums and now I am curious! I'm thinking of rooting my intercept. But first I read that rooting will allow for apps to sd and tethering and pinch to zoom as some of the main reasons to do it. So my ? Is have I already rooted possibly when I loaded my dlo5.zip thru the recovery screen cause I can already do all the things I mentioned above?
