A simple to-do list??

Hey thanks Haruspex! I wanted to keep my todo stuff contained in gmail (since I have it open all the time and didn't want to have to have yet another window open throughout the day)... with RIMs gmail app this might be the solution I was looking for! I'm going to try it right now!
 
Remember the Milk also has an Android application of its own (available in the market). Haven't used Astrid, so don't know which interface is better.

Especially on the website, I like RTM's ability to make numerous lists. On the mobile app, you can view items by list as well, but wherever possible I like to do the heavy lifting on the big screen.

This allows me to just look at the web dev list, the home repair list, the office maintenance list, the sales lead list, etc. Or if I just want to despair, I can also look at a view of tasks from ALL lists.

Caveat, I'm a RTM Pro member, which is necessary to sync RTM with apps like Google Calendar (at one time I was using this to work it around to syncing with Outlook in a Rube Goldberg fashion). I'm NOT sure if you need the paid membership to sync from their website to their own mobile app. If so, it's only $25 a year. The app itself was free.

Ah, yeah, totally forgot to mention that Remember the Milk has a wonderful Gmail plugin. It's way better than the built-in Tasks.

I have used both the Android app for Remember the Milk and Astrid, and much prefer Astrid (which syncs to Remember the Milk no problem). Astrid also has a nice Android widget.
 
try "theTask" in android app, it's simple, efficient, and does what it says. It got a screen widget too, i like it..
 
For a simple notepad I like the Jota one, there's another good one just called NotePad but the scrolling isn't as good for large files. For a todo list I found Tasks+ which is as fast as adding stuff in a notepad but much better organized. Also I like to sort my tasks and moving stuff around in a notepad is a pain on a phone.
