OK, so I was the first again.

The firmware works and you can choose any langague in Google catalog.

That's all I can tell now, I never use this default Android GUI, so I'm a little bit lost here.

But all the major hardware are working fine.

Maybe the listed bugs looks a bit "scary" :-) I tested the custom 1.7 myself but was not happy with that since the apperance of the screen became bad (contrast, colors) so i went back to 1.4.1 witch works just fine! Did u install it the "normal way"...?

Yes, to install this custom firmware you just follow the same procedure.

There are just 2 problems that are bothering me:

- No multitouch support (but we don

Well now i also installed it just to try,but it seems i have a problem, am not able to get on to internet thru wifi even though the wifi is activated.....have u had any problems with this ? on my phone android market seems normal thru edge netwok....

I tried Wi-Fi on 2 router, both with WAP protection and I had no problem.

I read something about Wi-Fi problems on the chinese forum, their sugestion to solve this was to use static IP.

Howard, can you please download and try official Skype app for Android?

I tried here but I was not able to conect.

I didnt manage to solve the wifi problem and i need a phone with wifi,so i reinstalled the 1.4.1 version...and the wifi worked again! Also i was not correct about the android market,i discovered that there was a lot less to choose from when this firmware was innstalled,my mistake! I dont know if am far out here but it really seems like android market picks out the apps avilable for u depending on ur firmware\phonebrand...a friend of mine has a acer liquid phone with android 2.1 and he has much more apps to choose from on the market.....anyway it might be better to wait for the LeOS 2.0 or the custom version! But i really appreciate ur work on this forum :-)

This lack of apps on market is really anoying me, but I can live with this until Custom LeOS 2.0

No...only problem was that i had to take out the memory card and manually put back the image file for the 1.4.1 firmware! With the 1.4.1 u can connect to the micro sd and load a new image file with the pc`s usb port without the pc suite! when the 1.7 or 2.2 installed my pc could not connect....i never found the pc suite 91 or what it is called! I hope that the LeOS 2.0 will be a nice piece of software since the phones hardware seems to be very good....not the camera of course he he :-)

If you have version 1.7 , then in order to access to micro SD. You must connect your phone to USB. Unlock the screen if it is lock.
Touch the top of the screen where the clock is. And stretch your finger down the screen. A window appear in which the usb icon will be.
Click it and select "mount". After that, your micro SD card will appear in your computer. )))

He he,i never thought of that......

I don't really like it...
WiFi didn't work, only after using 3G my wifi worked.
Google market is not showing many applications.
I hope LEOS 2.0 will be better.

I still prefer Lenovo's GUI too.

But I'm starting to discovery some possibilities with the default GUI, there are tons of options to optimize it.

Anyway, things are starting to get better to Lephone, I alwas loved the hardware (except the camera as our friend Howard said).

In a few months we are going to have the option to use LeOS 2.0, native Froyo (with this problems solved) and the chinese team are already working on a native 2.3 firmware

So this 2.2 version is not that good and the 1.4.1 version is much better?

OT: im still having problems doing the upgrade since i cant install the pc suite properly. is it necessary to have the pc suite to upgrade the firmware? can you give me instructions on how to do it without using the pc suite?

thanks!

That's great we will have a 2.3.
For now I will stick to this 2.2 custom firmware. As you said, there are lot of options to customize it.
Indeed there are some issues I encountered, however I am satisfied.
The Camera is not so important for me to a mobile phone. I have a digital Camera for better pictures. The mobile phone camera is just something to use when you don't have your digital camera.

I am so glad I found this forum.:D
