Help a200 Auto Shuts-Off at night while charging

Is this an Android problem or an Acer problem? I did some research and found that the a500 did the same thing. Is there anyway to keep this thing on sleep mode without it shutting off? I would have thought that it would at least do this if it was plugged in the whole time, but it will still shut off overnight.

Hmmm... Mine has not shut itself off one time. Charging, or not. Did you change a setting to have it shit itself off?

I did not. And I can't even find a setting that applies at all to this issue. Also, it's not just overnight. If I put the tablet to sleep (meaning, I just press the power button to turn off the screen), it will stay in that mode for about 25 minutes before it automatically turns off. This is really annoying!!!

I don't want it to turn off unless I turn it off myself!

**Edit, would the tiny lock button next to the volume have anything to do with it? Do I need to be using that button or something?

Nah, that lock switch is just for locking the orientation (landscape or portrait). I noticed the same thing as you with regards to the charging. I plugged mine in last night when I went to bed (just got it last night btw) and I assumed that when I woke up it would be fully charged. I do the same with my phone.

When I went to bed the device was at 67% and when I awoke it was at 84%. I was wondering why it did not charge all the way overnight and then I realized what happened. It shut off during the evening and stopped charging.

This IS a weird feature for Acer to have included, if they did in fact do this on purpose. Maybe it is to prevent any overcharging of the battery which CAN affect battery health and life. That is a possibility. But at this point I have no idea.

And while it can be a bit annoying, it is not anything that will totally drive me nuts. Maybe this is something that can be rectified by rooting the tablet?

I have had no problem charging at night. It has never turned off. However, I had been running a how long will it last on battery test since yesterday morning. I left my house at 7:30am with a fully charged tablet yesterday, didn't really use it much until the afternoon. Then I left it sleeping last night. When I got up this morning it was still at 98% battery. So today I started streaming some music and even watched about 90 minutes on Netflix.

Now comes the weird part, I had to step away from my desk for about 15 minutes. The tablet was in sleep mode. I came back in and the tablet was off. When I did get it back on the battery was at 48%. I was hoping it would go lower, but does it have a built-in safety to turn itself off if the battery drops below 50%? I now have it charging, but I was hoping to wait until I got home tonight and charge it.

Is this a similar shutting off issue?

Had this tablet for a little over 2 weeks now, haven't had a single problem with it powering off when I haven't wanted it to.

I dont have this problem at all...even had it charging most of the day at work.
However, my problem is the screen wakes itself up from sleep repeatedly within minutes, very annoying!
