I am thinking of getting a new ROM. Im currently running stock HTC ROM which is rooted with darktremor a2sd+ script.
I dont want to go to a new ROM if there is not an easy way to restore all my apps and app data.
As all my user apps are on the sd-ext via the DT script is there an easy way to just re-add the symlink (?) so i dont actually need to download and install them all again.

Titanium Backup is your friend. :) Just remember that it can't be used to back your contacts up. Current versions will now back up messages and call logs (at least the Pro version will, not checked whether free one does) as well as apps and data.

Unfortunately you can't just re-add a symlink to sd-ext, for 2 reasons:

1) when you do a wipe before flashing the new ROM, that wil wipe the ext partition too.

2) only part of the app, and none of the app's data, are on the ext partition, so preserving its contents (e.g. removing the card when wiping) wouldn't be enough.

Take a full Titanium Backup, make sure contacts are backed-up somewhere, take a nandroid, wipe, flash, restore backups. If something doesn't work, restore the nandroid and nothing is lost.
