My android device is rooted. Should I upgrade when I see a message like'firmware upgradation is available' ?

Your best bet is to look around within the forum for your device. There are probably lots of knowledgeable people there that can answer your question the best.

Generally speaking, yes, you can safely upgrade using the OTA update, but you will probably be unrooted after the update, but that's not a problem.

If rooted and you want to keep root and not have any issues, it is always best never to take any OTA updates, with that being said, I would check in your device forum and they will best guide you there, all phones are different.

before taking an OTA make sure you know what it is! you can always look to your device forum to see if others have information on it
