Help ? about sync

Hi I've started to get the hang of bits of the phone BUT is the only way to get stuff on the phone via the computer is to drag & drop? Do I make a folder for my stuff or does it just show up on the menu

It pays to use a file manager like Astro which you can Download from Market / Play Store. (Google) Cheers Neil.
