Abroad Data Syncing

Hi,

I am heading to France next week and I have purchased a bundle from my network for internet aboard (only a small limit). One thing I want to make sure is that my phone is not sycning with random apps whilst not in use (Facebook, Gmail etc). I cannot find anything on my phone (HTC Desire HD) to turn individual app sycning/roaming off, where can I do this and what is the best course to do to save useless data usage, would it be to turn off mobile data when not in use from the widget?

But then when I turn it on to use my apps I don;t want this to auto sync/download.

I think you could turn off all syncing on all your apps, and then use Synker to sync what you want when you want. Have you looked at Synker?
