Help accelerometer stopped working

Looks like my accelerometer is broken. I've checked the orientation flag and it is on. As a test tried compass and krazy Kart racing- both not working.

What I think happened is that I used the new Google maps today- and the phone got really hot. Suspect I've cooked it.

Battery pull as well as power off -no joy. Is a factory reset worth trying?

Well a factory reset did not fix it- but a wipe and reinstall did. So it was software. And I "think" the new google maps update did it so just be cautious. I've put the new version of maps back on and if it happens again I'll update here

EDIT- I was wrong. I Installed an ad blocker which I can't remember the name- think that was it. I was trying to block admob- bad idea
