Help Accelerometer wrong in GT racing academy?

When I installed the game on my tablet, the game is almost unplayable. I am not sure why, but the settings put the steering to the tilt of the tablet, not side to side, but forward and back. So, in order to turn left, I must tilt the tablet forward, and to turn right, I must tilt the tablet towards me, makes the game not much fun. Any insight as to why it is setting up this way, the game works fine on my other devices (LG P920, Galaxy S II), but only on the tablet, does it have trouble. I have tried two different versions of the game, the HD version, and the "academy plus" version, both have the same dynamics when playing the game.
