Access Numbers when entering text

So on my old motorola droid1 I could tap, hold, and move my finger above the letters to access numbers and common symbols. This was a new feature after updating to android 2.2. Is this not a feature on the X? Do I have to toggle the numbers/symbols keyboard on and off just to enter in a couple numbers? Thanks guys.

Enable the swype keyboard and you can long press the letters to get numbers. I know what you are talking about and no that is not built in to the standard keyboard on the X. If you haven;t used swype, give it a few days and you will get used to it and won't look back. Its a fight at first.

Thanks for the response. I'll give it a try. Can you have swype enabled and still have it predict your words if you tap the letters? Thanks!

yup, in the settings to turn that on.

Thanks for the response, I tried that out, it doesn't correct like the regular keyboard does. If I type in a word and miss one letter it will not recommend the correct word. Seems like it is a different type of auto correct.
