Access root directory

Greetings!

Yesterday I've installed Cyanogenmod 7.2 for my Huawei U8510 (X3). This phone is sim locked by vodafone and now, with the same SIM card I have to enter Network SIM PIN to access GSM Networks.. So I can't call anyone, etc..
So I was searching in my phone, when suddenly found something strange: a directory called 'Cust' which contained another directory, 'VODAFONE'. So I've deleted that directory, and now the phone is still locked.. So I've searched a lot, and found the 'root' directory in the local filesystem, which is totally hidden from me. I try to open it, and it says it's empty, but I can see it was modified in 11.09.2011

So my question is that: How can I view the files, to delete that Network lock from my phone.
Don't say google is my friend, I've searched the whole day :)

Thanks in advance, Realyzee

SIM PIN is a standard security feature in any GSM phone. In fact the setting is stored in the SIM itself IIRC (so a thief can't just bypass your security by putting the SIM in another phone). You should be able to turn it off using the phone's Security menu, provided you know your PIN. It should also require you to enter the PIN to activate it in the first place, so I'm not sure what's going on here.

Deleting files from the ROM will not help here. If it's active and you don't know it you should speak to your provider (if you guess wrong three times you will need to speak to them to unlock it).
