Accessing Dialer WITH security password set

Hey Folks

I apologize if this question has already been asked. If so, please point me in the correct direction. Yet...

Is there an app or ability to access just the phone dialer without typing in the password?? Maybe through using the emergency dialer somehow??

I ask only because my previous BB had an option to access just the phone without typing in the password. It was a nice function, but I am not going back!

Thanks!

Not sure what phone you have, but on both my Samsungs, beneath the entry field for a password or pattern, there is a "emergency call" button which brings up the dialer. Of course you have no access to contacts though. Whats the point of securing the phone when anyone can still use it to see your contacts.

I hear ya! I have that emergency dialer as well. I guess to me it doesn't matter if a person sees my contacts....
I would still like to dial a number without going through my password.

Thanks for the reply!

Sorry to bump!

Anyone know of a solution??

For what it's worth, I don't have any secrets in my contacts and it'd be convenient to have access with less interaction required, especially in an emergency situation.

Then that means, anybody stealing your phone also has access to your contacts, their address/numbers etc. Which was the point of the locked screen anyway.

I do now have an idea though. You can put a contacts widget on widgetlocker if you want access to contacts on the lockscreen.

Right! Downloaded WidgetLocker, updated lock screen (thinking I could turn password security on AND still access contacts... "fully customizable"), and still need to input password  . Maybe I should contact developer of WidgetLocker???....

In the grand scheme of things, its not a hug issue, but it certainly would be convenient.

Also, in BB, had access to just phone numbers in contacts, nothing else like address, etc.

Thanks for help
