Accessing Network Drives

I have looked at the other threads on here via the search. I have tried a number of the Apps mentioned. I have downloaded ES File Explorer and it works great for accessing the files on my laptop and any external drives that I have connected and shared on there.
The problem that I am having is that I have an USB drive connected to my Sagecom Modem/Router from Bell Canada. The router recognizes the drive as does my laptop. I cannot seem to get the ES app to find the drive.
I am running the Galaxy 10.1 Tab with ICS 4.04 installed
I realize it may be a unique set up but any help is greatly appreciated.

I have also registered to post the question on ES File Explorer Forums.

I use X-Plore file manager which accesses my NAS drive which is connected directly to my router, might be worth trying that.
You have to specify the drive using it's IP address, so it's important to configure your router so that the drive has a static IP address.

I use ES File Explorer to browse my NAS and stream from it, but the NAS has an OS. I don't think it can see the USB device that is plugged into the NAS. My PC can though. I will look tonight, maybe it has to be set up as a share?
