Help accessing texts through gmail

[opticalsound]

Hello,
I just upgraded to a new phone on Verizon, and they didn't transfer my texts to my new phone as they usually do.

A couple years ago I was on my gmail account on a desktop computer, and accidentally came across every text I've ever had since owning any smartphone.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to access this, and if it's possible to transfer all or some of them from where gmail/google saves them to my new phone (Droid Turbo 2)

Thanks a bunch,
-Christopher

Did you use this app?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zegoggles.smssync

OR this one:

I don't believe I used a backup app, especially since it literally showed every text I've sent or received from every phone for like the past decade, and i wouldn't have put that app on every phone.

Only thing I can think of is that feature was removed from Gmail. Google Voice may have had that feature as well. I can't remember anymore as they have gradually merged into Hangouts and alot of features people liked have been phased out.

Good luck and maybe someone else can chime in.
