Help AccuWeather Widget. If I can't fix, how do I replace?

I am enjoying my new Samsung SIII phone but the Accuweather app seems to no longer update and when I manually change it, it changes back to a prior, wrong location and setting.

It used to work. I used to have 'enable current location' on all the time and when I would travel it would update or at worst I would reboot the phone and it would update then as it found the new location. But suddenly it stopped updating or it kept switching back to a prior city even if I rebooted or otherwise manually changed it.

So now I have 'enable current location' off and yet it still does the same thing. If I manually change it or reboot, it is ok for a short while but then defaults back to a prior city.

I searched and can see this Accuweather app has caused more then a few problems over the years and on differing phones but I could not find a solution. I would love to fix this problem but if not I want to know how to delete the widget and if there is a decent replacement.

Any help appreciated. Thx in advance.

check in the apps settings and make sure you have it set to update. I think there are 4 choices of frequency.

It has options for "Auto refresh" which are None, 1 Hour, 3 Hour, thru to 24 hour. Mine is set to "1 Hour".

IMO, there is something buggy about the widget. I have it set to update once every 24 hours and I've noticed that the time on the home display is on the wrong time zone (sometimes). There is a update button and that doesn't work. When you open the application to list out the other cities, everything is fine and up to date. Not something critical, IMO, but something worth pointing out if they care to fix these annoying things.

I have just tried deleting every city that was in the Apps scroll-able list that I have been to in the last while and which it had remembered. SO I now have no cities saved but do have 'Enable Current Location' on and it is showing the city I am in now.

I won't know until next week if it will auto update when I change cities as I do not travel again until next week. I guess I will see then if that is a quasi fix but that still limits the app as being able to keep those other cities, I frequent, in the memory to scroll between is a useful function.

Setting it to 1 hr makes the time stay correct?

You need wireless location enabled in location settings
