Acer A3-A40 Optimising ?

Recently on startup this tablet has started saying "Optimising app 1 of 1" which takes ages to clear.
I found out all the app install dates using "App Detective".
I have uninstalled in sequence the last 12 apps installed during 2020 and 2019 but nothing has changed.
Is there a way to find out which app is causing this so I can uninstall it ?

"optimising app" most likely is referring to a system app and not a 3rd party app. was the device updated recently? try booting up into safe mode and see if it is still occuring. if it is, then it is not from a 3rd party app, and you will most likely need to do a factory reset.

Haven't seen that 'Optimizing app...' message popping up at start up since Kat Kat (vers. 4.x) days. It was tied to Dalvik, an out-of-date java virtual machine that older Android versions used. Since then Android has changed to using ART (Android Runtime). To get that optimizing apps message required one to boot up into the device's Recovery Mode and select a 'wipe Dalvik cache' menu option -- a maintenance task that was intentional, not automatic nor reoccurring.

Anyway, since you're seeing this just happening on its own that's an indication there's a problem at a system-level. Could be with the installed Android operating system itself, or it could be some random corrupt configuration file. It's apparently happening right at the initial start up process, yes? If so, it's probably not an app you've installed. If this is happening during the boot up stage, it's the operating system itself is getting loaded up in to memory (before any third-party apps/services get pre-loaded).
--Try restarting your tablet into its Safe Mode and see if that makes any difference:

This doesn't seem likely but it doesn't hurt anything to at least try this to rule out if this problem is due to some installed app.

The system cache partition doesn't retain any of your saved data/files so it's also safe to do.

Sorry for the delay.
Hi svim, thanks for your advice - wiped the cache but made no difference so I'm giving up.
Maybe giving up on the tablet completely as many modern apps are incompatible.
