Ad-droid...question about apps and ads

Finally got around to installing addons detected and saw mostly what i expected....except for 2 of my paid apps!!

Emit and Reddit sync pro are showing admob and AdSense. I quickly emailed both development asking about this. To the emit development cred he was back with me within minutes. First he asks what i mean by detected then after a screenshot his reply is that the code is there but not used......makes me Leary. Why would the code still even be there for a paid app and why would addons detected pick it up if it was dormant.

Can anybody chime in on this?

AirPush detectors have a "black list" of ad companies who let devs make money with ad push tools.
The dev puts the addon in his free app and it's more easily to let it disabled in the paid version.
So, a detector would pick up the name of the ad company, not the addon, in a paid version.

Same with banner ads in apps, they are just disabled in the paid versions.
And the detector picks up the ad company's name.
