Root ADB Help

I am trying to install a custom recovery on my LG Vortex using adb shell but no matter what i do it will not recognize my device when i go try to get in. I have tried finding the correct drivers and I can't find anywhere to find them. I looked through the forums for the answers but couldn't find anything. Can someone please help me by linking me to where I can get the drivers I need or at least to a thread that has the information I need.

P.S. I have tried everything on LG's site and it looks like they don't have anything to support the Vortex anymore.

You can use a terminal emulator app on the phone instead of adb. Make sure the files are already on the SD card
