Help ADB not working

Everything was going fine until recently when my girlfriends N4 battery started draining real quick. The back of the phone would be super hot. Also the USB ADB bridge no longer works.. Thankfully I can still use adb wireless although painfully slow. I felt bad so I gave her my N5 and took back the N4.

I have replaced the battery and also the USB port.

I've tried multiple computers, OS and usb cables. In Linux the command lsusb shows nothing and its nowhere to found in Windows device manager. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Where I am now is I can get into bootloader and recovery. Adb still doesn't detect the phone. Wish usb otg worked to transfer some files to get an OS installed.
