Help ADB Question

I would. The S4, even though being over 2 years old, still retails for $350.00. So, the phone has value if it's working and the he'd get the files off, too. Then have him write 500 times "I will backup my phone".

[Lana30]

Exactly what is your friend trying to do? Get files off the device?

Yeah, there's not much to do other than replace the screen, assuming it is the screen and not a GPU failure.

Hi Re-reading here, how would you know if it´s GPU failure?

[lunatic59]

Um ... by replacing the screen and it still doesn't work?

Honestly, that highly unlikely and if you say the phone responds to touches, I'd say it's the screen. If the GPU failed, I'm not sure the thing would even boot.

oh I see. Just our of curiosity (to learn) what signs would a failing Smartphone GPU give?

[lunatic59]

Well, there's the black screen and failure to boot.

There wouldn't be much warning. There might be some screen discoloration or random reboots or full system crashes, but when these things go, it's usually sudden and catastrophic.
