Add To Homescreen Question

I have three homescreens open on my E with 80% of the second one free. When I do a "add to homescreen" it placed the shortcut on a new screen. All my other androids wouldn't do that unless there was no free space on the existing screens.

Is there anything I can do to change this action?

I think that's a touchwiz thing. Try a different launcher like Nova or Apex.

Not unless they have recently changed it. Our 2 S5s and 1 Tab4 don't exhibit this action.

I have to agree with @lunatic59 that the easiest fix is a diff launcher.

If you want to move that app icon to a different screen, try doing a long-press directly on the icon, and then slide it to the left edge (or right) until you get to the screen you want.

I know that. I don't want it opening another screen when there is sufficient space on the existing ones.

This is just a Touchwiz thing, no way around it unless you want to **** around with your system or you can just simply get a new launcher.

Each device will handle things differently.
Install a different launcher and you'll be all set.
And that's just the way it is, unfortunately.
