Adding a downloaded picture as background

I am very new, yesterday, to the Droid 2. Always used Blackberry so these phones are completely foreign to me. My question is I downloaded a picture off the internet that is an .aspx file to my Droid 2. I would like to make it my background picture, but have no clue how. Can anyone help?

.aspx is not an image file extension

If you can get a normal image file you can just set it as the background from the gallery or hitting menu key (at least with the samsung captivate).
