Help Adding a widget to NovaLauncher home screen

I use NovaLauncher and was trying to add the Favorite Contacts widget which it says is 4x5, but it always tells me there's no space on the screen for the widget. I've tried to add it to a blank home screen, I even tried increasing my home screen rows/columns to 6x6 but same error (the widget increased to size 4x6 when I did this as well).
Anyone have any ideas on solutions for this problem?
 
If it's the trail created by Umesh Gidnavar that one doesn't support Nova Launcher. I've found at least three versions of a Favorite Contacts app. Which one are you using?
 
I'm not using a special app, I use the system Contacts app and haven't downloaded any special extra widgets so I guess this is a stock widget. However if there is an app I can download that would do this same thing I'd be willing to do that
 
Well I'm not too sure what you want to do but I used the Favorite Contacts Widget Free by Alexandre Almeida from the Play store when testing it on my M8 running Android 6.0. It created a 4X2 widget on my home screen, there's also a 4X1 option.
