adding app icon to login screen

[Android Question]

I want to add a Flashlight app launch icon to the login screen. On my previous iPhone, I could just swipe up, without entering my passcode, to show a small menu where I put a flashlight app. I used this daily. How can i get several handy apps, or just one app at minimum, to be readily available without needing to login first?

Some Android devices do let you place shortcuts or widgets on the lockscreen. Check the system settings for any lockscreen or personalisation options.

Otherwise, install a replacement lockscreen like WidgetLocker from the Play Store and use that to add the functionality you want.
