Help Adding icons to folders - strange behavior

Lucky Armpit

Anyone else having this problem? When I install a new app and it creates an icon, I try to drag it to a folder I have set up. The folder moves and won't let me drop the new icon into it. It's like the folder is running away, lol. I either have to wait a while before I can do it or very carefully position the icon over the folder before it lets me drop it in. Anyone else seeing that behavior?

Yes ... I have (had) that problem. The solution was to make sure the top of the icon being moved is not visible. Sometimes when it was visible it would move the other icon "out of the way".

Ah, so you mean grab the icon by the top of it, so to speak. Okay, I'll try that next time. Thanks!

You need to "fiddle around" with it until you see what works for you. It is trying to figure out if you want to move the existing icon out of the way or create a folder for the two.

Your suggestion worked perfectly. If I grab an icon at the top, it will drag to a folder no problem. If I grab it by the bottom, it moves the other object out of the way. I was able to reproduce that several time. It's apparently smarter than I am. ;) Thanks for the tip!
