Adding more than one folder to desktop

Sorry if this has already been asked, I did look, I promise!

I am running a stock Eris with the Sense desktop. I used the little "+" button on the lower right of the screen (which brings up the "add to home" screen) to add a folder to the desktop.

So far, so good. I can drag a few things into the folder, and I even figured out how to rename the folder to something other than "folder". Called it "stuff".

Now the good part. I added a second folder, called "things". Can't drag anything into it. When attempting to add items to the second folder, it never "lights up" as a valid drop point. In fact, after creating the second folder, I can't drag items into the first folder any more, either.

If I delete the second (empty) folder, then drag all the items from the first folder onto the desktop, then the first folder will accept items again.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and is there a workaround?

Thanks

Once you have more than one folder on the desktop, in order to place new items into desired folder, you have to have the desired folder opened. Then you just drag the item onto the opened folder and ta da! Don't know why you just can't drag the item onto the desired folder.

I haven't had the same problem you are experiencing but I was trying make folders to organize my apps. My problem was that I ended up with a bunch of boring folder icons and was looking to change them. Then I was turned on to an app by someone in this forum called Apps Orgainzer. It is an excellent app for creating folders and giving them seperate names and icons. Maybe you should take a look at going that route. It's a free app in the Market.
Here is a link with more info: Apps Organizer (Apps Organizer)

I was just going mention Apps Organizer. I use it too. One of the shortcomings with that solution is that you can put only apps into the folders, not shortcuts. No perfect solution it seems.

I can't figure out how to do that. When I open a folder, it fills the screen. If I drag an item from another screen over to the open folder, it still will not "drop". Can you tell me exactly how you got items into the second folder?

Thanks

When you have the folder opened, you still have access to the drawer tab at the bottom of the screen. Open your apps drawer and select the app you want as you normally would and it will go to the opened folder. This process doesn't work with shortcuts and widgets.

I simply longpress the app I and drop it onto the desired folder. I've never opened the folder before dragging & dropping

And this works for you while you have more than one folder added to the desktop? (lower right corner "+", then choose "folder")

I have installed abcOrganizer, which works pretty well, but still doesn't allow me to organize anything but apps. I want to put widgets into folders too!
