Help Adding Multiple Contacts on S3 Using an Excel Database

Hello All,

I am new to the forum and I just got my S3 today. I was wondering if there is a way to quickly add multiple contacts onto my phone either through Kies or some other means.

I have an Excel database (not a CSV) which has all my phonebook data in it with names, multiple phone numbers for each name, organization name, etc. I was wondering if there is a way to add all of this data together at the same time into my phone instead of one by one (I have nearly 400+ contacts) which would be a nightmarish experience.

Is it possible? Please advise!

Very easy to do. Go to a PC and go to gmail.com and log in.

Switch from mail to contacts. Import the excel spreadsheet into your contacts there. they will resync within seconds to your phone.

If you are unsure of the format, then export your current contacts to an excel spreadsheet to see the headers and columns and fields and such first and cut and paste your data to the spreadsheet (Overwriting existing data) you just exported. Reimport the spreadsheets back into gmail contacts.

this is very easy to do and works well. Android keeps all contacts in your gmail account so if you ever lose your phone they are already backup up.

You can even import then into a second gmail account and add that one to your phone. When you add the second email to your phone they all magically sync in, delete the email account and they disappear.
