Help Adding new events on calendar

I had been using outlook on my windows phone, but now am using Android.

The phone came with a calendar that appears to be unusable to me. I cannot add new events. I just get the message "google calendar cannot sync with samsung kies use my calendar to sync with kies". Where is this thing 'my calendar' that it keep going on about?

I need a way/tip/app to add events that can sync with my outlook via kies (yes kies sucks big time, and alternatives welcome).

How can I add new events? Thanks

*I have searched all afternoon, but all answers are seem to be in the area of needing Google calendar

the calender wont sync with kies as it syncs with google calenders online so you can access you events from anywhere (with or without your phone)

to create a new event in the calender click the bottom left menu button and select create

Keep your calendar centrally in your google account. It is so much easier.
Set your phone calendar only to show google calendars.
The first time you create an event just tick the check box not to show the message again and click ok.
You won't see the message again.
Don't forget you need to sync your "local" calendar with the online version. This can be done automatically if required but I don't recommend it. I just sync after I've done a few updates.

Cheers for the replies.

The thing is, I want to use the calendar to sync with outlook. I need it to sync with my windows phone too.

Is there any way that I can get my calendar to show my new events and be compatible with kies?

At the moment I write a new event and nothing shows up. I'm not that keen on having my data on Google as it will contain details about some clients.

Anybody out there who can help me? I'm in need of some experienced people to help me with this issue. Being a newbie to Android I feel kinda lost...

Thanks
