Help Adding wallpaper - choosing between two cropping choices?

I dont get it. When adding a new wallpaper image, I had to crop it. But it doesnt make any sense that sometimes it lets me to choose cropping the image in a lanscape mode and sometimes in a portrate. I cant find the way to be able to choose which cropping option I would like to use. On the picture (attached), the left one - im forced to crop the picture as a portrate. Then on the right image, im forced to crop it as a lanscape. Even if i had two pics with exactly same resolution (let say 1200

You need a wallpaper that is double the width (720) and 1x the height of the Note. That would mean something like 1280x1440 and then if it asks you to crop you will always have enough resolution to do that.

If not, use wallpapr Wizardrii or a similar app that lets you set walllpaper without cropping.

Yes I know that. Adding a new black layer for example to get larger area. But is it really so, that I can't choose which way I want to crop? (portrate/landscape) These are those little things that makes Android looks unfinished and OS needs to be polished.

If ou set your wallpaper that often just automate it using wallpaper slideshow or download wallpaper that are of proper resolution, simple.
