Help Adding widgets

Can't find the answer here. I'm trying to add a couple of widgets to my wife's Atrix. But when I long press on a home screen, I'm given 4 choices but, unfortunately, I don't remember them all. Something similar to "live wallpaper,' 'wallpaper,' 'Gallery,' one other. Nothing allowing me to add a widget. On my family's other android phones, I get an 'Add' option. What is different about my wife's Atrix? How do I add widgets?

It would depend on what version of Android the phone is running. I've noticed that I couldn't add widgets in the way you are describing on JellyBean ROM's on my DHD.

I don't have your phone, so am basing this on my memory. If you go to the app drawer, you should see (at the top left hand side) "apps" and, just next to that, you should also see "widgets". "Apps" will allow you to add apps and "Widgets" will allow you to add widgets in the same way.

I recently put a different launcher (lightning launcher) on my Nexus 4 and it now allows me to add widgets in the same way as you are describing, which could be a possible answer too
