An update... a little after the last post was posted Starscream agreed to sell the device for $23... I have no idea if he will send it to admn or if he will send it to me... lost contact with him not too long ago... keep you guys posted as the situation develops

if he chooses to sell it to ya that's cool too. as long as it ends up in the hands of a developer that's all I care.
 
Yes I've confirmed it... he will sell it to me for a flat 23... I will try to produce the funds on my own if possible because I do not want to further escalate the situation
 
I'm sorry, but selling a device you were given and paid nothing for, even if selling for $1 is f**king shady. Its even more offensive that he was given the device and didn't do crap with it. We'd probably had a working rom a lot sooner had it gone to an active dev.

I'm going to make a mental note for my own future reference so I don't support him in any way.
 
He's not in a good living situation right now... while it may be wrong to sell it... at the same time I sympathize with him a little... but anyway... please refrain from negative comments... I will attempt to buy the device as I really look forward to deving for you guys as well as possibly debuting a few things our team is currently working on ;-)

It's Not our problem that he's having issues...Sure, it's unfortunate (I just got done with some serious medical procedures,so I understand), but that doesn't justify trying to make money off the charity of others. If you're trying to justify selling a donation because he's fallen on hard times, then maybe this community isn't for me.

Charging for something that was donated to you is ethically and, in this case legally, wrong. It destroys the trust and communal aspect of the Android community. That's all I going to say about that.
 
I agree with you here B, but I do know the circumstances with starscream aren't good either. I'm just glad this situation is resolved. while most of thedonated devices have worked out, there's still hope for this one so let's see what Jet can do.
 
Let me just make it clear, he is not here anymore to explain nor defend himself. So consider this discussion over from here on out.

Lets look forward to the positive influence to this community, and like jetx2x had said, the issue has been resolved

just be sure to use CM10.1 android 4.2.2 as a base and not ICS or 4.1.2 JB :p
 
yep im about the only one here still giving ics some love!:p
