I don't know if this is the right forum to put this in, it's certainly not a new app, but I recently discovered it, so ... (Mods, feel free to move it)
Everyone (I'm as guilty as anyone else) complains about how each new version of Maps is worse than the one before. Wouldn't a nice simple lookup be great? Just look up Joe Smith or Home Depot or whoever you have in the address book and Maps is ready to navigate from here to there? My Directions is what Google should have put in Maps as a part of it. Name and address - that's it. Press the one you want and you can edit it or navigate to it (or cancel). Press Navigate and Maps runs with the address set up and ready to go. Now you can navigate to named places, not addresses. (How many of us have deleted addresses we once went to but can't remember what they were for?)
Just remember to tap the box (on the map) to set the address after you've typed it in, and click the check mark in the upper right corner to save it when you're done (I've forgotten to do both a few times).
It makes Maps just about usable.
