Help Address Book Sort Order?

[gunny5821]

Does anyone know how to change the sort order on the AddressBook? I want to sort off the Last Name, instead of the First Name as it does by default. I cannot find the option anywhere..

You can probably download an app that does that. I havent tried any, but recall something called Phonebook 2.

WOW, thats crazy! It must be an Android 1.6 issue, because the Captivate I had prior to this had the option for sorting by first name or last name. So I guess I'll wait till we get 2.1, which will hopefully not be too far off....

Do you want it so you can find things faster or is it just a 'look' of it thing?

I use Gesture Search app to find my contacts, you just use your finger to draw in the first letter of whatever it is you want to find. First letter of first or last name works fine. (You can also set it up to find apps and music/videos etc but I dont do music!)
