adhoc network detection on my android

[sgind]

how can i have my android phone to detect the wifi hotspot(adhoc network) that i created on my pc?? :help:

Root it, then you have to install device specific stuff which doesn't always work anyway. What phone do you have?

I was trying for something that dsn't require me to root my android since i m a new user..
Cud u help me wid anything simpler?
i m using sony xperia sola..

Nope nothing simpler that I know of. Android does not natively support adhoc networks at the OS level itself, so you have edit deep inside the system files to get it to even detect adhoc networks.
