Adobe Air

Will someone that does developing explain what this allows you to do?

I see the comments in the Market about it. Pretty funny.

I don't do programming, however, Adobe Air is a programming framework like java or .Net for the PC that makes it easier to port Air programs across different platforms. At least as I understand it.
