Help Adobe Flash Player

Lurker
I'm having a terrible time trying to download Adobe Flash Player to my Droid X, does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I'm super new at all this stuff, so I don't know all the terms. Lol.

Okay, so two things:

- If you haven't upgraded to 2.2, you can't download it. You need to be on the latest version of Android in order to use it.

- If you have updated to 2.2, you already have it on your phone. There may be an update in the market, but you should be able to view flash on your phone.

Also, can you give some details? What happens? Are you going to the market, searching for Flash, and downloading it? If so, you don't have to do that. Ever. The stock version is either already on your phone, or if it's not, you can't use it.

Are you going into the market and seeing the Flash has an update? Does it give you an error message?

How do I know if I have 2.2? Sorry for all the questions.:)

I tried to download it from the Adobe website and they said it should already be available with 2.2, I read on another website to download it from the Market and I couldn't find it... So, this was my next stop before I started messing with things and screw something up.

In your applications, go to Settings, scroll all the way down to About Phone, and look for "Android version"

If it says 2.2, you're good to go. Don't worry about downloading it. You'll get notifications if there are updates - you don't have to visit the Adobe website.

If it does NOT say 2.2 (it will say 2.1 instead), you can scroll up to the top of the About Phone section, press System Updates, and it will update your phone.

Would it be Firmware Version or Kernel Version? I don't have Android Version.

I had updates available, and I downloaded them, but the flash player still isn't working. Am I doing something wrong?

You should have android version on there.
1. From the main screen hit the menu button.
2. Hit settings.
3. All the way at the bottom select about phone.
4. I have all of the info listed in order how it is on the phone below.

System Updates
Status
Legal Info
Safety Info
System Version
Model Number
Android Version

Under android version you should see 2.2 if it say 2.1 then flash will not work at all. If you are on 2.1 go to system updates and check for new software it will download 2.2 for you.

Okay, I finally got it to working.
Before the download and leaving my phone off for a while, when I went into the about phone setting, I had the options of:

Status
Legal information
Safety information
System version
Model
Firmware
Baseband
Kernel
Build number
ERI
PRI

But now it's like you all said it would be, with the Android Version.
Is the lag I'm experiencing now normal?

Which Android version do you have?

Also, be more specific about lag. Scrolling? Swiping between home screens? Unlocking your phone? Running a particular application?

I have the 2.2 version now.

The lag happens when I unlock the phone, scroll down the screen, opening the browser, even the things I type take longer to show up. It lags during everything.

After the initial install the phone is probably backing up based on the settings you have configured.

Try powering down the phone after clearing the cache. I had the same problem after the upgrade to 2.2.

Power cycling the phone a few times resolved all my lag issues.
