A number of people now have said if they like the Ad version they will buy the Ad free version but would you expect additional functions in the Ad Free version as well as obviously no Ads!

If I like an app I buy the paid version if available, even if there are no extra features other than removing the ads. I believe that developers should make money on their apps, but I hate ads.

I block ads on my phone
I block ads on my computer
I pay for Slacker so I hear and see no ads on the radio
I have a DVR and fast forward ads

If I want to buy something I know what I want to buy, I don't need advertising to tell me what I should buy or just annoy me all the time!!

While I understand that advertising is necessary to let us know about the products available, I really don't like it always in my face. That is why I don't like it on my personal property such as my computer or phone. I will always take the option to buy ad free or block it if there is no ad free option available for that reason.

So as a little bit of an experiment I have released StockUP in AdFree form I will let people know the uptake of it as a percentage of the Ad supported application. I also intend adding widgets to the AdFree function to add some value.

I ignore ads in my apps and never click on them. I'd prefer apps to be ad-free with a donation version available.

If I find the app useful, use it regularly and the price is right I'll donate, that's just how I am. I understand that relying on people like me to make a living may not be the best idea for a developer though.

I'm very stingent with how I spend my money. I need to consider if it's the best 'bang for my buck' as the saying goes. I don't really mind ads in apps if they aren't in an obvious place that are prone to accidental clicking.

If there's an app I like, use often and I like how the developer has been handling my inquieries and/or updates on the apps, I paid/doate for the ad free version (ex LauncherPro, mini info, and folder organizer). I also buy apps for features that are not in the free ads version (ex doc to go, system panel and note everything)

I think developers should always have two versions of their applications, one free and one paid. The paid one SHOULD have some features that is not in the free ads version. I think, 'I'm paying you for your work, I don't want something that I can get for free.'
