Advanced Calling 1.0

Yes. I have 2 LG G3s with Verizon, got the update to Advance Calling last week. Installed on both phones. The sound quality is definitely better. It is much clearer, and you can hear more details. My wife and I did notice a difference. Also, you can do video calls right from the phone dialer, either one-way or 2-way. Video looks good, but of course it depends on the signal quality. The only thing I am not sure about is whether if you use video calls, if they count against your data.

My concern is the dropping of calls when moving from LTE to 3G. Glad to hear that there is a noticeable quality improvement.

And video calls do count against data.

I notice a delay when calling a non-HD line.. I don't get audio right a way and people have to say hello twice before I here it once

Don't know if the Advanced calling feature has anything to do with it or not.
I have always had a couple seconds delay before the audio paths get established with all of my Verizon cellphones.

Don't matter what brand or model. It takes time for everything to get sync'd up end to end from your phone to their phone.

Have not noticed that here. Same as always as far as I can tell. I do seem to hear others on a Verizon line much better though. But better with all really.

I turned the HD voice feature off the same day it was released. None of my 500 contacts have Verizon with HD capability.

That has nothing to do with Advanced HD calling. It only works from Verizon wireless to Verizon wireless when both people have it.

I have found the strength of the voice call signal to be weaker and breaks up more than 1X but when it works, it is very clear. Being able to switch back and forth to video during the call and having clear audio during a video chat is invaluable. Hangouts is not completely dead yet since that can use wifi completely while overseas and of course for people who don't have VZW HD voice. VZW is working with AT&T and T-Mob to make their VOLTE systems compatible.
