Advanced lock screen options

On the typical lock screen you can alter the background, clock and whatnot but is it possible in any way to edit the lock animation that shows up when you swipe to unlock.

What i'm referring too

I've searched for a while and can't find any way to change it into a custom animation. Particularly one which would be a full screen animation.

Depends on the ROM. Some phones allow that option built in. For example Samsung has the light effect and others.

You can use Widgetlocker to get various different unlock sliders and give you a more customizable lockscreen.

Thanks, it definitely is a step in the right direction but for now I haven't found any that allow you too upload files such as .gifs to become custom sliders.

Not a gif, but there are many themes and custom sliders for WidgetLocker. Or you could learn how to make them and hence use an image file of your choice.

(A slider isn't a static image, so I'd expect it needs more than one image file. I've never decompiled one to see what's in it).
