advantage of rooted g1?

so what the advantage of a rooted g1 cause right now i have jf 1.5 and i dont really see anything good and i'm about to switch back to the normal us 1.5

Your Choice .... some recent posts are saying some bugs in messaging, possibly attached to the build being us to do a manual ...

You can surely UnRoot and just wait for the Official update to be push to your phone ... but for the next builds that are on the development table that are used by many of that root so we can test the latest and greatest ...
you will be out of the loop ....

Why did you root in the first place ? ...
 
i rooted mainly i thought there would some cool features also i would have loved to run apps off sd card but i dont know if i can do that with stock 1 gig card that comes with the g1

also i'm kind of a little scared it might brick and t-mobile wont cover it under there warranty

As it sits right now you will not just wake up and have a bricked phone. The last time I talked to a TMO rep they will not void the warranty if the phone has been rooted. I guess it would behoove you to switch back before sending it in if you ever have to...
 
I mainly rooted for the Tethering ability! It's awesome to be able to jump on the internet with any computer via wifi wherever I am. I could literally be camping and still use internet on my laptop through my phone!
 
When I rooted a few months ago, I wanted multitouch and autorotate. Now that cupcake is out, I'm keeping it for Apps 2 SD and to be on the cutting edge. No point in tethering for me because I only have Edge...maybe by June I will have 3g...
