Advantages and Disadvantages of Android Update 2.3

Disadvantage- If you use backup and restore to save your contacts and apps, it is no longer compatible with the new 2.3, So save it to a compatible one or on your comp.
 
The advantages I have found so far is Flash 10.3, Netflix, Tethering, Apps to SD, And a few apps that had to have 2.2 and up to work, I have to say they have made a lot of improvements and it gives the X10 a nice new phone feeling.

With regard to the Back up and Restore, you can download it as an App and it works perfectly once you have restored. All you do is once you have updated, download Astro, search for com.android.vending-3.1.3.apk on the SE web site (this is the Back Up App). Download this app to your PC and transfer it to your SD card and open as normal, hey presto all your restore settings are there.

Used it on my son's phone, perfect!

What about flash as if i use my browser to view videos (live streaming of football) then it comes up with a little lego brick in the middle of my screen and sometimes it pops up that i need flash installed???

Yes you still have to download Flash 10.3 from the market then you can watch them
