Advice needed for Android 2.1 "netbook"

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can give me some advice, and possibly help me troubleshoot.

My step daughter was given an Augen Genbook Model# NBA10800A by her mother last Christmas. It has never worked correctly for her from what I am told. I work on Windows computers, but have never worked on Android. I think it was set up incorrectly or something initially. Perhaps there is a hack if not a fix?

Currently it can't find a wireless network. I have turned off the ethernet, and turned on the wireless, but it doesn't help. I also cannot check the status of the device. I get the error "The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".


Any thoughts?

**Update on OS**
Model number listed in the about device section says: Android for Livall TCC8902 GENBook (multi-language)

Might help.
 
The first thing I would try is a factory reset to see if that helps.

I would suggest looking to see if there was an update by the OEM but it looks like Augen no longer exists so I doubt they will be putting out any updates. The only thing I can think of would be a factory reset at this time.
