Advice on Android Tablets

Hi, I am currently looking at getting an android tablet, but despite constant searching I still haven't managed to decide on which to get or whether to wait.

Ideally I would like a 10" Nexus(however the latest rumors say it will not be out til Q1/2 2013 and i dont want to wait that long).

At the moment I am currently leaning towards the ASUS Transformer t700. I was hoping someone could give me some advice in what the best tablet for me is, or if there are any new tablets on the horizon, that would suit me better.

My requirements are:

  • Less than $500
  • It has to be fast
  • 1920x1080 display or above(for HD video viewing and Comics)
  • Android Marketplace
  • 10" screen
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome Captain_Jammie, to the AF community :)

I have moved your thread to the Android Lounge where it could be better attended too.

ASUS makes some great Tabs, i can agree with that.

The Nexus 7 is a really great one and i know a lot of people stand by it, even if they don't own it :)

I highly recommend Asus products, if anything because they update their tablets quicker than anyone else.

Why is "Android Marketplace" listed as a requirement? On what non-generic Android tablet will you not have access to the Play Store?

Honestly, I'm not really blinded by the whole HD screen thing, just causes you to use up more battery, and decrease the power you get from the GPU since they are rendering more pixels. This is a mobile device after all. As for the tablets, choice is up between Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Asus Infinity, where due to the screen reso you want, you'll go with ASUS.
